HOW TO GENERATE CUSTOMIZED VOUCHERS FOR MIKROTIK USER MANAGER


I will show you how to use CORELDRAW designed VOUCHER TEMPLATE to create Mikrotik User Manager vouchers and print on a desktop printer.

TOOLS TO USE
1.    Knowledge in CorelDRAW.
2.    Knowledge about how to generate batch users in Mikrotik User MANAGER.
3.    Desktop printer.
4.    And the will to learn and to succeed.

The instructions shall be in three (3) parts:
1.    Part one is the design of VOUCHER TEMPLATE in CorelDRAW.
2.    Part two shall concern itself with the preparation of voucher information, including LOGIN and  PASSWORD data, in the form of CSV File.
3.    Part three shall be the generation of vouchers through PRINT MERGE in CorelDRAW.

PART I:  Design of VOUCHER TEMPLATE in CorelDRAW
STEPS
1.    Open CorelDRAW.
2.    Click "File" > "New".
3.    Click "Layout" > "Page Layout" > "Label".
4.    Select "Labels".
5.    Click the plus (+) sign beside "AVERY Ink A4".
6.    Select "J8164-63.5x72" and click "OK".
7.    Design the ticket according to your need by adding logo, price, time and spaces for "Login" and "Password".
8.    Click "File" > "Save as".
9.    Name it "Voucher Template".
10. Click "OK".
If, however, you cannot use CorelDRAW to create your own template, I shall be willing to provide customized template(s) at your request.

PART II:    Preparation of Voucher Info
STEPS
1.    Create batch users in USER MANAGER.
      a.    To log into Mikrotik Userman, type ip/userman in browser and press enter. 
      b.     Type your “Login” and “Password” info and click “Log in”.

      c.    To generate batch users, click “Users” > Add” (on top menu bar). 
      d.    Click “Batch.


e.    For “Number of users” enter 20 or 50 according to the vouchers needed. 
f.    For “Username length” enter 6. 
g.    For “Password length” enter 6. 
h.    For “Assign profile” select one of the profiles. 
i.    Click “Add”. 
j.     That number of users shall be added to the existing users.

2.    Select the users for which vouchers would be created by ticking the boxes beside them. 
3.    On the top menu bar, click “Generate” > “CSV.


4.    Select “Download as file” and click “Generate.


5.    Select “Open with” > Notepad (default). 
6.    Click “OK”.


7.    CSV file shall open in Notepad.
8.    In the Notepad, click “File” > “Save As”.
9.    Enter a name (e.g. Userman Vouchers) for the “File name”.
10.    For “Save as type” select “Text Documents “.
11.    Click “Save”.
12. Note the place or folder (e.g. Documents) where the Text file is saved.


PART III:      Generation of Vouchers through PRINT MERGE in CorelDraw STEPS
1.Open the VOUCHER template in CorelDraw.
a.    Double click CorelDraw icon on the desktop (if it is not already opened).
b.    Double click the voucher template you made.

2.    Modify template if necessary (by changing logo, price, time, expiry, colour etc.).
3.    Now, on the Top Menu of CorelDRAW, click “File” > “Print Merge” > “Create/load Print Merge”. 
4.    Select “Import text from a file or an ODBC data source”, and click next.
 

5.    Select “File” and click the corresponding “arrow” to browse to the place or folder (Documents) where you saved the Text file (Userman Vouchers) earlier on.
6.   Click "Open".
7.   Click "Next" > "Next" > "Next" > "Finish".



8.    On the “Print Merge” menu bar look for “Field” and “Insert Print Merge Field”.

9.    For the “Field” section, select LOGIN; and click the “Insert Print Merge Field”. 
10.    Format and properly position the inserted “LOGIN” field on the voucher template. 
11.    Again, for the “Field” section, select “PASSWORD”; and click the “Insert Print Merge Field”.
12. Format and properly position the inserted "PASSWORD" field on the voucher template.





13.    On the same “Print Merge” menu bar, click “Merge to New Document. 
14.    Wait while vouchers are generated and a new document is created.
15.    Now click “File” > “Print Preview” to see the completed work. 
16.    Click “File” > “Print” > “OK” to print the vouchers. 
17.    Cut and staple vouchers into booklets. 
18.    Test one of the vouchers to ensure it works right.
